Gynecomastia Excision Considerations

During your Gynecomastia Excision consultation with Jonathan Heistein, M.D., he will answer questions you may have about the procedure or treatment and will discuss any safety concerns related to the surgery.

Gynecomastia Excision/Male Breast Reduction

Male breast development can occur in many different degrees, anything from a fully developed breast to enlargement beneath the nipple. Gynecomastia causes the overdevelopment of the male breasts which leads to the swelling of glandular tissue. Fat accumulation can also occur which exacerbates the issue. Treatment is considered after all medical conditions that may be responsible are ruled out.

Surgery consists of either liposuction, excision of breast tissue, or a combination of the two. Recovery is about 2 weeks.
