In most cases, women who undergo breast augmentation surgery experience no complications and find that their results fully satisfy their aesthetic needs. Unfortunately, some women may experience issues that affect and diminish the results of their procedure.

One of the most common complications that may occur is capsular contracture. Scar tissue will always form around the breast implant in the shape of a capsule and is generally not an issue. In some cases, however, the scar tissue forms in a way that is too thick and begins to contract. This places immense pressure on the breast implant, which can cause it to become deformed.
